ZAP+ Buffered Drain Pipe Opener

DESCRIPTION

THE FAST SOLUTION TO EMERGENCY WASTE LINE STOPPAGES

NO MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Black Swan’s Zap+ Buffered Drain Pipe Opener is a heavy-duty, sulfuric acid drain opener formulated specifically for emergency use.

Meaning of Buffered: Buffered means it is safer to use than regular sulfuric acid drain pipe opener. The product will have a delayed reaction and will not get as hot. If acid is splashed on skin, the end user has more time to wash off acid before burn occurs. The reaction not getting as hot also allows for use of the product in toilets bowls without worrying about cracking the bowl.

ZAP+ quickly clears clogged drains and waste lines:  thaws frozen lines.  Disintegrates paper, rags, sanitary napkins, lime and scale deposits, food scraps and other organic matter. Melts grease quickly.

ZAP+ is manufactured with concentrated virgin sulfuric acid.

ZAP+ contains protective, corrosion inhibitors and quick penetrating activating agents. They inhibit corrosive action, and their proven protective superiority has been attested to by an independent laboratory.

ZAP+ will not harm septic tanks, cesspools, drainage fields and leaching systems when properly used according to directions.

ZAP+ saves time and effort – and simplifies tough jobs.  Emergency stoppages can be promptly eliminated in the shortest time – cleanly – without the use of mechanical equipment.

PERFECT FOR EMERGENCY JOBS INVOLVING REMOVAL OF ORGANIC WASTE – IN SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, MOTELS, HOTELS, CLUBS, APARTMENT & OFFICE BUILDINGS, PLANTS & FACTORIES, PUBLIC BUILDINGS, RESTAURANTS, INSTITUTIONS, FARMS, CAMPS, AND HOMES..

DIRECTIONS

OPENING INSTRUCTIONS:  Tear plastic bag at top and carefully remove bottle. Keep bottle on stable, flat surface and hold by handle. Do not squeeze sides. It may cause eruption of liquid. Remove cap by pressing down and unscrewing. Always replace cap after use. If liquid comes in contact with your skin, rinse thoroughly with cold water at once!

GENERAL

READ ALL DIRECTIONS AND WARNINGS BEFORE USE.   FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS EXPLICITLY.  Do not use drain opener in or on aluminum, chrome, stainless steel or non-acid-resistant enamel. Clean spills or drips immediately. Always close connecting drains when using drain opener. Avoid backups. Do not use plunger. Place a bucket or other large, deep container under drain before use. This product is inhibited against attacking most metals. Old piping systems may be porous and have defects that are sealed with accumulated organic matter. This product may expose these defects by attacking organic matter, as intended, and cause leaks.

  1. Wear goggles or face shield and acid resistant gloves.
  2. Hold product at arms length.
  3. Carefully open bottle. Do not squeeze or tilt bottle.
  4. Remove as much standing water as possible.
  5. Determine correct quantity of Zap+ to use and stand time.

Quantity Allow to Stand
Small Drain Lines ½ Pints 15 minutes
Waste Lines and Traps ½ Pint 15 minutes
Urinals 1 Pint 15 minutes
3” or 4” Lines 1 Quart 30 minutes
6” or 8” Lines ½ Gallon 30 minutes

  1. Due to the buffered nature of the product (product does not get as hot), Zap+ can be used in toilets. Be careful. Remove water, add pint and flush.
  2. When adding Zap+ to system, always go slow. Add small amount. If no bubbling or backup occurs, add balance of dosage.
  3. After Zap+ is added to system, cover opening with bowl or dish to protect against possible splash back from acid.
  4. After allowing Zap+ to stand for recommended time, flush system with cold water.
  5. If drain is still running slow, repeat process,

STORAGE

Keep ignition sources away from sulfuric acid container. Store above freezing point (-21.1°F @93%). Elevated temperatures will increase the corrosion rate of most metals. Store locked up. Store container in dry, well ventilated location away from combustibles, oxidizers, bases, or metallic powders. Incompatible Materials: Carbides, Chlorates, Fulminates, Nitrates and Picrates. (May cause fire and explosion). Contact with metals may produce flammable hydrogen gas. Do NOT add water to the acid.
